You knew that this was coming!
Moviegoers at Loews Cineplex theaters will soon be able to skip the advertisements and previews, once the chain's owner begins listing the actual start times of featured presentations this month.
The move by Manhattan-based Loews Cineplex Entertainment follows pressure by customers and by legislators: A bill was introduced in the City Council earlier this year calling for fines of as much as $1,000 whenever a movie started after its listed time.
Advertisements and coming attractions can delay actual showtimes for featured movies by as much as 25 minutes after the published times. Starting May 13, Loews will publish the actual start times of featured presentations at its theaters in Connecticut and, over the next month, the theater chain will include the information for its eight Manhattan theaters and all its other locations nationwide.

I thought you Americans led the world in many things. "Programme" (i.e., including ads) and Feature" times are standard information in UK cinemas, and have been for decades!
