MADISON AVENUE was warned yesterday that it risked being marginalized by profound changes in technology and demographics that are fundamentally changing the ways products are sold to consumers.
The warning came from speakers at the opening session here of the 2005 management conference of the American Association of Advertising Agencies. "In a world where the only constant is change, the only way to stay in business is to recognize when the lessons you have learned no longer apply," said Ron Berger, the 2004-6 chairman of the Four A's, as the association is known.
