You know, when I lived in Orlando, we used to go to Hooters all the time -- seriously, they do have the best wings I've ever eaten. Oddly enough, for many of my married friends with young children, Hooters was a family restaurant. They took their kids there all the time! And now we've begun to export them all over the world, so more people can learn all about the joys of seriously good wings!
Hooters, an American pub and restaurant chain known for its scantily clad waitresses, will open its first franchise in Korea today in upscale Apkujong-dong in southern Seoul. In contrast to some predictions, the opening of the restaurant _ where waitresses wearing tight white tank tops and orange shorts serve dance moves and smiles as well as beer and food _ has not yet drawn much criticism from the general public or women’s rights groups.
Hi David... Actually I'm not sure the information in The Korea Times is entirely accurate (tho it may be a technicality on whether you read it as "first in Korea" or "first franchise"). We've had a Hooters in Singapore for years... same owl logo, same tight white tank tops and same yummy wings so I'm pretty sure same chain.

Let's cut the Koreans a break. It's cold as hell there, they work 20 hours a day, a two-bedroom apartment in Seoul costs more than a city block in NYC, and they have crazy neighbors with (small) nukes and crave attention.
No wonder they love massive multiplayer PC games like Lineage. Real life is just too depressing. The least we can give them, outside of the obligatory US nuclear umbrella, is Hooters.
