While there may not have been any announcements about Beatles music on iTunes yet, it's likely to be made soon. If you remember from the iPhone launch, Steve demo'd the phone using Beatles music and he scripts things much too closely for that to be random. And it wasn't likely that he would music for the launch that wouldn't be available on iTunes. Look for that announcement soon!
APPLE INC., MAKER OF THE iPod, has resolved a trademark dispute with Apple Corps Ltd., guardian of The Beatles' commercial interests, over use of the iconic apple logo and name. But the announcement yesterday between one of the world's largest music sellers and the beloved band did not say if the catalog of Beatles songs will become available for download anytime soon.
The settlement gives Cupertino-based Apple Inc. ownership of the name and logo in return for agreeing to license some of those trademarks back to London-based Apple Corps for their continued use.
