Yea, we've all been there. Sounds like a great sale and we get all excited about what we can buy. We head down to the store with great anticipation and then we encounter this. Diva makes an excellent point at the end of her piece:
Sure I could have walked away, but I really wanted these glasses I found, so I sucked it up. Which proves that less-than-stellar customer service won't necessarily stop consumers from buying. What it will do, however, is stop us from coming back the next time.
But all too often, all we really care about is the immediate sale, so the fact that I won't ever come back, isn't that big of a deal. Well, unless, of course, you're expecting your business to be around for more then the current quarter! Remember, if all the world's a stage, that's a lot of critics!
Never again will I buy something from the Home department at the Macy's near my house. I was trapped in a shopping nightmare with no escape in sight. Think throngs of shoppers, busted-open packages, missing price tags, mismatched sets. Think 20 people standing in line, each with several items in tow, and only one cashier in the entire department. It was a madhouse; it was housewares hell.
