Flying to Pittsburgh this morning, but wanted to post a couple of quick tidbits for you...
I rent from Alamo when I come down here, you might have read my previous piece on my lost keys fiasco the last time I was here. Alamo was very helpful -- DHL not so much -- so I try to give them back my business. But for heaven's sake they can make it hard. If you call the number is Pittsburgh, you actually get a recording with about 6 other phone numbers you should call. If you want National, dial some number...if you need roadside assistance there's another number. Come on folks, if you're going to make me connect somewhere else, do the transfer for me.
Love how fashion works. Reading in the Styles section in today's NY Times about new sneaker Nike is selling. For $220. They're vintage styles that already come looking beat up. Did I mention they cost $220? For old looking sneakers. And to think my Mom used to not let me out of the house in beat-up looking stuff! There's also an article about buying bathing suits, which always seems to be a huge issue for woman. Guys, we don't even try them on! But for women, this has always been a source of complaints. Kind of amazing that not many retailers have put much effort into fixing this problem. But the writer mentions several times how much easier it is to shop online, especially given the general level of support she got. And she was shopping at high end retailers! Folks, either you got to make the offline shopping experience a positive experience or I'll just shop online. And all of that real estate that you're paying for will become just a big and very expensive window for me to shop at.
Now you all go out and have a great day!
