Back again at the Nick upfront and looking forward to hearing their story this year. Entering family entertainment arena this year with hotels, cruiselines, theme parks & more movies. They've also created the big green help, to give kids the tools to go green.
Cyma Zarghami is now talking about what's happening at Nick. #1 cable network for 13 years. $5.2 consumer sales. All content will live on every platform. Big ideas:
Amy Pohler bringing a new show called the "Mighty B" to Nick. It's about an aspirational 9 year old herione. Just showed a very funny clip from the show. Amy finished with "Come advertisers, won't you share this delicious dream with me?" They're bringing in Rob Stringer, Chairman of Sony Music, to create more music opportunities for Nick. Devloping new Nick stars with TV & records. One4All, a new show that's about a boy band. Thankfully, it's a scripted comedy, not a reality show. They are scouting for the show now. Now discussing iCarly, a big hit from last summer. New show coming called Dance on Sunset, Quddos is now describing what the show will be like. Sort of an American Bandstand + Soul Train? They're adding dancing and teaching new dance moves to the audience. Cyma's now talking about how they're trying to bring parents into Nick too. Chris Meloni, usually with Law & Order SVU. He's got a much better sense of humor then you'd think from his SVU gig! Introducing their new movie, Gym Teacher, about a failed Olympic gymnast turned gym teacher. Movie clip looked pretty funny.
Jim Perry's up next, talking about the 360 approach. Highest ratings for woman 18 - 49 on Nick at Night. Top 5 networks all adults 18 - 49 for Nick at Nite too. "Every audience finds a great place to hang out with us, on TV or online."
Natasha Bedingfield has now taken the stage with her band to close the meeting. All in all, they presented an excellent look into what Nick will be providing this year.
Just reading that the CBS upfront will include TV, radio, outdoor and everything they do. So maybe the upfront will change and morph into something different over the next couple of years.
