IanSchafer.com: Pizza Hut, What The Heck Were You Thinking?

A couple of folks have picked up on this new Pizza Hut video, including Ian Schafer who clearly didn't like it at all. So, I looked at it to see whether or not it was as bad as people thought and, yep, it was! I mean, I don't even know what they're trying to say here. Is it that Pizza Hut folks will deliver anywhere? Well, they could've gotten that message across in much more entertaining ways. Is it that Pizza Hut tastes better? Well, wouldn't it be helpful if they actually showed that some how? I'm with everyone who didn't like it. It just seemed very much like a high school prank that's just about being mean and not really about driving any real message.

Wow. This may be the most insensitive, untimely, poorly-thought-out initiative I've seen in a long time. If Pizza Hut were a person, I'd say it was a jerk.

Lets see...anger mom & pop pizza places (yes, in this economy), and bring in the mass-produced bastardization of their bread and butter to rub in their face. Yeah. That makes me feel better about Pizza Hut. It's one thing to call out your competition if they are another chain. It's another to insult small businesses.

My advice? Next time, stop trying to make a 'viral' with the goal of getting views, and instead, focus on creating content that actually builds your brand -- or at least makes it look good.

This video deserves to get - er - panned.

That's not funny...that's just MEAN. Especially, as you said, in today's economy where small businesses are working hard to stay open. The guy on that video needs a beating.

Someone has watched too many Sonic commercials and tried to duplicate them or come close to the ignoramus slapstick humor which Sonic pulls off very well. These guys would be very good if they weren't stupid un talented and oh yea not funny at all. they should go back to calling grocery stores and asking if they have prince Albert in a can....
